A few members of the East Cape Tours team recently did a site inspection of Amakhala Game Reserve. This is what one of our staff members had to say about the experience:
The Eastern Cape bush stretches out in front of me, dry from the drought yet still teeming with life. The winter sun peeks out from behind a curtain of clouds, and Amakhala Private Game Reserve is basked in a generous dose of sunlight. The reserve is vast and a safari vehicle is needed to get from one accommodation to the other, but the ride is enjoyable. The dirt road is bumpy and the fresh air hits your face in a pleasant, refreshing way. As you drive through the plains of the Eastern Cape, you can’t help but feel as if you never want to return to the city again.
Amakhala Game Reserve is a popular malaria-free game reserve situated in Greater Addo, between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, and comprises of a number of unique and luxurious lodges. The reserve is perfect for those who long to relax and escape the busy city life. There are ten luxury lodges set in prime locations throughout the Big-5 reserve and each promises an incredible and memorable getaway. We were able to visit six of these lodges during a recent site inspection, each one offering luxury and scenic accommodation with its own distinctive twist.
