About Lalibela Game Reserve
Lalibela Game Reserve is one of the many outstanding private game reserves in the malaria-free Eastern Cape. It’s one of the lesser-known reserves in the area – compared to the likes of Pumba and Shamwari – which makes it the perfect destination for a quiet, intimate safari away from the crowds.
The game reserve spans over 9’000 hectares and is home to the Big Five, as well as a multitude of other free-roaming wild animals and birdlife. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are conducted in specialised game viewing vehicles, and include a short breakfast stop and a sundowner stop. At Lalibela, the game drives aren’t just about spotting the Big Five. The rangers go out of their way to expose guests to the smaller, more unknown species as well. After all, a curious spring hare or a tiny blue duiker is just as fascinating as the mighty African elephant!
